Just want Caleuche?
Have you ever stood by the sea when a thick fog rolls in, so quiet you can hear your own heartbeat? That's where my story begins. My name is Millalobo, and I am a sailor, but my ship isn't like any you’ve ever seen. It’s made of moonlight and seafoam, and it sails on the waters around the beautiful islands of Chiloé. For a very long time, fishermen and their families would whisper tales about a glowing ship that would appear in the mist. They said it was a ship alive with music and laughter. I know their stories are true because that ship is my home. They call our story the myth of the Caleuche. It’s a special tale, and I want to share it with you from my deck, where the lanterns glow like captured stars and the sails whisper secrets to the wind. Our ship is a wonderful mystery, and I am part of its magic.
The Caleuche is a ghost ship, but it’s not scary at all. It's a happy place for sailors like me who were lost in the great, wide ocean. Instead of being gone forever, we were welcomed aboard this magical vessel. We are the Caleuchanes, the crew of the ghost ship, and we are one big, happy family. At night, our ship glides silently through the water, its lanterns casting a warm, gentle light. We love to have parties with cheerful music that drifts across the waves. Sometimes, fishermen hear our songs and wonder where the beautiful sound is coming from. We are the guardians of the sea. It's our job to protect the fish and the whales and to help guide sailors who are lost in big storms. If we need to go ashore, we have a special trick. We can turn into friendly sea lions and slip onto the beaches to see what's happening on land. But we are very shy. If anyone gets too close, our ship can dive beneath the waves and disappear in the blink of an eye. It dives so fast, leaving only ripples and a wonderful mystery behind for people to talk about.

The people of Chiloé have told our story for hundreds and hundreds of years. For them, the Caleuche is a way to remember the power and magic of the ocean. It reminds them to respect the sea and to think of those who sail upon it. Our story is also about finding light in the darkness and a new beginning when something seems lost forever. Today, the Caleuche continues to inspire artists who paint our glowing ship and musicians who write songs about our ghostly music. And whenever a child on the islands sees the fog rolling in, they look to the water with a little bit of wonder, hoping to catch a glimpse of us dancing on the waves. Our story reminds everyone that the world is full of magic if you just know where to look, especially when the mist is thick and the sea is quiet.
