Hephaestus

Hello. My workshop is warm and full of happy sounds. Clang. Clang. My hammer goes clang. The fire in my forge is warm and bright. It glows like a little sun. I live inside a big mountain. It is a cozy mountain. I build wonderful things in my mountain workshop. I love to make things with my hands. My name is Hephaestus. I am the god of making things. This story is called The Forge of Hephaestus. It is about how I made beautiful gifts for everyone.

The other gods and goddesses lived on a big mountain. It was called Mount Olympus. They needed special things, and I could make them. I made a big, sparkling chair for my father, Zeus. It was a throne that shone like bright lightning. I made strong shields for heroes. The shields gleamed like shiny mirrors. I also made little golden helpers. They were tiny and fast. Zip. Zoom. They helped me in my workshop. I put magic in everything I made. I put lots of love in everything I made, too. My workshop was always busy, busy, busy. Puffs of smoke went up from my mountain chimney. Puff. Puff.

My story shows that making things is wonderful. Everyone has something special they can do. Maybe you like to build with blocks. Maybe you like to draw with bright colors. That is like my work in the forge. It is special and important. When you make something new, you are sharing in my joy. Making things is magic. We can all help build a happy, wonderful world together.
