Just want Puss in Boots - French?
You might think a simple pair of boots and a bag are nothing special, but for a cat like me, they are everything. My name is Puss, and I was once just an ordinary cat, given to the youngest son of a poor miller. My new master was sad, thinking he had nothing of value, but I had a plan that would change both our lives forever. This is the story of how a clever cat in a fine pair of boots outsmarted everyone, a tale the French people have told their children for hundreds of years called Puss in Boots.
First, I asked my master for a pair of boots to protect my paws and a sack for my brilliant plan. He was puzzled but gave them to me. I put on my new boots, marched to a field full of rabbits, and used my sack to cleverly catch a plump one. I didn't take it home, though. I went straight to the palace and presented the rabbit to the King. I bowed low and said, 'A gift from my master, the honorable Marquis of Carabas.' The King was very pleased. I did this for months, bringing the King delicious partridges and quail, always saying they were from the mysterious and generous Marquis.
One day, I learned the King and his beautiful daughter were going for a ride by the river. It was the perfect time to put the next part of my plan into action. I told my master to go for a swim. When the royal carriage came near, I hid his old clothes and began to shout, 'Help! Help! The Marquis of Carabas is drowning!' The King heard my cries and recognized the name of the man who sent him so many gifts. He sent his guards to rescue my master and gave him a magnificent suit of clothes to wear. When the Princess saw him, she thought he was the most handsome man she had ever seen, and my master fell in love with her too.

When the Princess saw him, she thought he was the most handsome man she had ever seen, and my master fell in love with her too.
As my master rode in the carriage with the King and Princess, I ran on ahead. The road passed through beautiful fields and meadows. I told the farmers working there, 'When the King asks who owns this land, you must say it belongs to the Marquis of Carabas!' They quickly agreed. The King was amazed by how much land the Marquis owned. Finally, I arrived at a huge, grand castle that belonged to a powerful but grumpy ogre. This ogre could change into any animal he wished. I dared him to turn into a lion, and he did with a mighty roar. Then, I said, 'I bet you can't turn into something tiny, like a mouse.' The proud ogre wanted to prove he could do anything, so he instantly became a little mouse. And in a flash, I pounced and gobbled him up.
When the King's carriage arrived, I stood at the castle gate and announced, 'Welcome to the castle of the Marquis of Carabas!' The King was so impressed with my master's riches and good heart that he offered him the Princess's hand in marriage. The miller's son became a prince, and I became a great lord who only chased mice for fun. This story, first written down by a man named Charles Perrault on January 11th, 1697, shows that with a bit of cleverness and courage, anyone can change their fortune. It inspires people to believe in their own wit and reminds us that a good idea can be more powerful than a castle full of gold.
