The story

Sif's Golden Hair

Once upon a time, in a rainbow city in the clouds, lived a beautiful goddess named Sif. Sif had wonderful hair. It was long and golden, like a field of wheat on a sunny day. It was so long and so shiny. Sif loved her sunny hair. But one morning, Sif woke up and her head felt cold. Oh no. Her beautiful hair was gone. A sneaky trickster named Loki had cut it all off while she was asleep. Sif was so, so sad. Her husband, Thor, had a big voice that sounded like thunder. BOOM. He was not happy with Loki. "Loki," he boomed, "you must fix this now.".

Loki was a little bit scared of Thor’s big, booming voice. He ran down, down, down deep into the earth. He went to a dark cave where clever dwarves lived. The dwarves were small, but they were amazing makers. They could make anything. Loki asked two dwarf brothers for help. "Please, can you make new hair for Sif?". The dwarves said yes. They took shiny, bright gold. They spun the gold into tiny, thin threads. Spin, spin, spin went the gold. Then, with a little bit of magic, they made new hair for Sif. It was beautiful hair made from sunshine and gold.

A Gift of Gold
Loki took the magical hair back to Asgard. He hurried to give the gift to Sif. When he put the hair on her head, it attached all by itself and started to grow. It grew long and beautiful, just like real hair. But this hair was even more wonderful than her old hair. It glowed with a soft, golden light. It shimmered and shined. Sif was so happy with her new sunny hair. Her story teaches us that even when something sad happens, a little bit of magic and kindness can make things beautiful again. It is always very important to help fix your mistakes.
