Just want Trentren Vilu and Caicai Vilu - Mapuche?
My name is Lincoyán, and I live where the tall mountains touch the sky and the great ocean sings. Long, long ago, my home was a flat, green land, perfect for my people, the Mapuche, to live and be happy. But we always knew two great spirits watched over us: Trentren Vilu, the kind serpent of the earth, and Caicai Vilu, the powerful serpent of the sea. This is the story of their great battle, the story of Trentren Vilu and Caicai Vilu. It began when the ocean started to grumble, and the waves whispered angry secrets to the shore.
One day, Caicai Vilu grew angry. It felt my people were taking too much from the sea and not showing enough thanks. Its giant tail thrashed, and the ocean roared, rising higher and higher, swallowing the land in a great flood. Water rushed into our homes, and we were so scared. We ran for our lives, but the water was too fast. Just when we thought all was lost, the ground began to shake. It was Trentren Vilu. The good serpent of the earth had awakened to save us. With a mighty push, Trentren Vilu made the mountains grow, lifting us up toward the sky, away from the angry waves. Caicai Vilu saw this and made the water rise even higher. But Trentren Vilu was strong; it raised the mountains higher still. We climbed and climbed, feeling the earth lift us up. The two serpents fought a giant battle, one pushing the water up, the other pushing the land up. Some people didn't climb fast enough and were touched by the water, turning into fish and sea lions. We held on tight as the world changed around us.

Finally, Trentren Vilu pushed the land so high that Caicai Vilu grew tired and gave up. The waters sank back into the ocean, and the great flood was over. We were safe on the high peaks. But our world was not the same. The flat land was gone. In its place were the beautiful mountains, deep valleys, and thousands of little islands that you can still see today in the south of Chile. The battle of the two serpents shaped our home. This story teaches us to respect both the land and the sea and to live in balance with nature. Today, when the Mapuche people see the mountains, we remember Trentren Vilu's love for us. And when we look at the ocean, we remember Caicai Vilu's power. The story lives on, not just in our words, but in the very shape of the world around us, connecting us to our home forever.
