Just want Typhon?
Once, there was a giant named Typhon. He was a very big giant. His wings were as wide as the bright blue sky, and his voice rumbled like a big, friendly storm. Typhon was born from the Earth, which made him super strong. He thought he was so big and mighty, he should be the king of everything. This is the story of his big contest. This is the myth of Typhon and Zeus.
One sunny day, Typhon decided to play a game with Zeus, the king of the sky. Stomp, stomp, stomp went his giant feet. The ground wiggled like jelly. ROAR. went his big voice, and the mountains echoed back. Zeus saw the giant coming and grabbed his sparkly lightning bolts. Whoosh. A bright flash lit up the sky. Boom. The thunder answered back. It was a big, loud, and flashy game to see who was the most powerful. The whole world watched the amazing show of light and sound.
Zeus was very clever and did not want to hurt the giant. With one last, gentle zap of lightning, he showed Typhon the way to a big mountain called Mount Etna. It was time for a long, cozy nap. Now, Typhon rests deep inside the mountain, sleeping for a long, long time. Sometimes he snores, and the ground rumbles a little bit. A puff of smoke comes out of the top. People said this story helped explain the big, rumbling mountains called volcanoes. It reminds us that stories help us wonder about our big, beautiful world.
