The story

A Home for Giant Pandas

Hello! We are the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Our special home for pandas started a long time ago, in 1987. We are in a city in China called Chengdu. Our most important job is to be a safe and happy home for giant pandas. We make sure they have everything they need to grow and play.

We love helping panda families grow. We help pandas have babies. When a tiny baby panda is born, we have a special nursery waiting for it. In the nursery, we keep the baby warm and safe. It is wonderful to watch the babies get bigger and stronger every day. They are very playful! The baby pandas learn all about being a panda by watching their mothers.

Many friends come to visit us and see the pandas. They can watch the pandas eat lots of crunchy bamboo. They can also see them climbing up high in the trees. We love when people visit because we get to teach them about our amazing animals. We show everyone how to love and protect pandas. When people learn about pandas, it helps keep them safe all over the world. We work hard every day to take care of our panda friends.
