Room to Read

Hello! We are Room to Read. Our name tells you what we love to do: make a special room for reading! We are a team of helpers, and our big job is to help children all over the world learn how to read. We believe that reading is a wonderful adventure. It helps you learn about animals, faraway places, and amazing people. We want every single child to have great books and a nice, quiet place to enjoy them.

How do we do this? We build special rooms called libraries right inside schools. A library is a happy, cozy place full of stories. We fill the shelves with many, many books. Some have silly rhymes, and others tell stories about brave heroes. We also help create brand-new storybooks. These books have bright, fun pictures that make the stories come alive. We want children to have lots of exciting adventures to choose from every time they open a book.

It is very important to us that everyone gets a chance to learn. We work to help all children, and we give special help to make sure that girls can go to school and keep learning as they grow up. When children learn to read, they can learn about everything else, too! Reading and learning help you think of new ideas and follow your dreams about what you want to be when you grow up.

Today, we are still working hard. We are building more libraries and sharing more books. We do this because we know that learning to read helps children imagine all the amazing things they can become. They can dream of being a scientist, a writer, or anything they want. Our work is to help every child open a book and start their journey.
