Just want Nonviolence?
Hi there! My name is Nonviolence. I am the choice you make to solve problems without using hurting words or hurting hands. When you feel angry because someone took your toy, I am the part of you that takes a deep breath and uses your words to say, “Please give that back,” instead of pushing. I am a superpower that uses kindness and fairness to make big, positive changes in the world.
A long time ago, a kind man named Mahatma Gandhi used my power to help his country. Later, another great leader, Martin Luther King Jr., used me to help people be treated fairly. They showed everyone that you don't need to fight to be strong. Today, you can use me too. When you see someone being left out, you can use my power to invite them to play. Every year on October 2nd, the world celebrates the International Day of Non-Violence to remember how important I am. I continue to help people solve disagreements peacefully and build a kinder world for everyone.
I am always here to help you choose kindness. I am learning every day how powerful a calm voice and a caring heart can be. My story matters because it shows that even the biggest problems can be solved with peace.
