How I Cross the Street Safely
When I need to cross the street, the first thing I do is find my grown-up's hand to hold. We walk to the edge of the sidewalk and stop our feet. This is a safe spot for us to wait before we cross.
Next, we use our eyes and our ears. We look left, we look right, and we look left one more time to make sure no cars are coming. When my grown-up says it is safe, we walk. We don't run across the street. We hold hands until we are all the way to the other side.
Knowing how to cross the street keeps my body safe. It is important to stop, look, and listen every single time I cross. This helps me stay healthy and safe when I am walking outside.
