Just want Andean Bear?
Hello. I am an Andean Bear. I am very special because I am the only bear who lives in a big place called South America. A long time ago, in the year 1825, people first learned all about my kind. I have creamy-white fur around my eyes that looks like I am wearing glasses. That is why some people call me a spectacled bear. My home is way up high in the mountains where the clouds float by. It is a beautiful, cloudy place to live.
I love to climb trees. I have strong claws that help me go way up high into the branches. Up in the trees, I build a cozy nest where I can rest and eat my snacks. My favorite foods are sweet fruits and yummy berries. I also love to eat special juicy plants called bromeliads. I eat mostly plants, which makes me a gentle bear of the forest.
I have a very important job in my mountain home. When I eat tasty fruits, I carry the seeds with me as I walk through the forest. The seeds fall to the ground and grow into new trees. This helps keep the forest healthy and green for me and all the other animals. Being a forest helper is my special job, and it is why my journey still matters today.
