The story

Fex the Arctic Fox

Hi there. My name is Fex, and I'm an Arctic fox. I live way up north where it's super snowy and cold. I have a thick, fluffy white coat in winter, which changes to brown or gray in summer. It's like wearing a big, warm, snowy blanket all day long, which is perfect for my chilly home.

I have a fun secret. In the winter, my fur is bright white to match the snow, so I can play hide-and-seek really well. But when the snow melts in the summer, my coat magically changes to a brownish-gray color to match the rocks and plants. My favorite game is listening for little critters, like lemmings, that wiggle and giggle under the snow. I wiggle my ears, listen very carefully, and then... POUNCE. It's how I find my lunch.

All that pouncing and playing is very important. By catching little animals, I help make sure there aren't too many of them. It helps maintain balance in the snowy ecosystem. Being an Arctic fox is the best job ever, and I love being a special helper in my beautiful, icy home.
