Alexandre Dumas
Hello! My name is Alexandre Dumas, and I love to write stories brimming with excitement and adventure. I was born on a summer day, July 24th, 1802, in a little town in France. My father was a very brave general in the army, and when I was a boy, my mother would tell me incredible stories about his courage. Hearing about his adventures made me dream of creating my own! I couldn't wait to fill pages with heroes, sword fights, and daring escapes for everyone to enjoy.
When I turned 20 years old, in 1822, I packed my bags and moved to the big, bustling city of Paris. I had a huge dream: I wanted to become a famous writer. At first, I had a simple job working as a clerk, but every spare moment I had, I was writing. I started by writing plays for the theater. In 1829, one of my plays became a huge hit! Suddenly, people all over Paris knew my name. It was so exciting to see my stories come to life on a stage with actors and costumes.
After my plays became popular, I decided to write adventure books. Have you ever heard of 'The Three Musketeers'? I wrote that story in 1844! It’s about three brave friends whose motto is 'All for one, and one for all!'. I also wrote a story called 'The Count of Monte Cristo' around the same time. It's about a man who escapes from a scary prison and finds a hidden treasure. I loved creating characters who were clever, loyal, and always ready for a challenge. My books were printed in newspapers, so people could read a new chapter every week, like a TV show today!
I wrote hundreds of books and plays in my lifetime, and my imagination never ran out of adventures. I lived to be 68 years old, filling pages with stories until the very end. Today, my books are still loved by people all over the world. They have been translated into almost 100 languages and turned into movies, cartoons, and comics. I hope that when you read one of my stories, you feel the thrill of adventure and remember that a little bit of bravery can take you anywhere.
