The story

Alexandre Dumas

Hello. My name is Alexandre Dumas. I was born in a country called France a long, long time ago, in the year 1802. I want to tell you my story. I have always loved to tell stories. When I was a little boy, my head was always full of exciting ideas and pictures. I imagined brave heroes who were always kind, and I pictured big castles with tall towers reaching for the sky. I dreamed of thrilling adventures on big ships sailing across the sea. Telling stories was my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world. It made me so happy to share my adventures with everyone.

When I grew up, I wanted everyone to hear my stories, so I decided to write them all down in big books. It was so much fun to put my imaginary adventures on paper for everyone to read. Around the year 1844, I wrote one of my most famous stories. It was about three best friends who were super brave and had exciting sword fights. They were called The Three Musketeers. They always worked together and helped people who were in trouble. I also wrote a story about a man who finds a secret treasure map and goes on an amazing adventure across the sea to find it. My books were full of excitement, surprises, and friendship.

I wrote many, many stories during my life. I filled lots of books with my adventures so that children and grown-ups could read them for years and years. I lived to be 68 years old, and my life ended in the year 1870. But the best part is that my adventures didn't stop. Today, people all over the world still read my books. When you open one of my books, you can meet my brave friends and go on an exciting adventure, too. My stories are for everyone, forever.
