The Boy Who Wrote Narnia
Hello. My name is Clive, but my friends and family called me Jack. I was born a long time ago, in the year 1898. When I was a little boy, I loved to read books more than anything. My brother, Warnie, and I loved to play together. We spent our days dreaming up adventures and we even created our very own magical world. We filled it with talking animals and called it Boxen.
When I grew up, I never stopped loving stories. One day, a picture popped into my head. I saw a faun carrying an umbrella in a snowy wood. That little picture grew into a whole world called Narnia. In 1950, I wrote a book called 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' so children could visit it, too. In my story, the way to get to Narnia is through a big wooden wardrobe. If you go there, you might meet brave children, lots of talking animals, and a great, kind lion named Aslan.
I wrote many more books about Narnia so the adventures could continue. One of my greatest joys was knowing my stories made children happy. I lived to be 64 years old. Even today, boys and girls can still open my books, step through the wardrobe, and have their own adventures in Narnia. The magic is always there if you just imagine it.
