Dante Alighieri

Ciao! My name is Dante. I lived a long, long time ago in a beautiful city in Italy called Florence. I was born in the year 1265. When I was a boy, I loved to read and listen to stories. I also met a wonderful friend named Beatrice. Seeing her always made me feel happy, like sunshine was filling up my heart. I loved words and stories so much that I knew one day I would write my own.

As I grew up, I decided to write the biggest, most exciting adventure story I could imagine! Around the year 1320, I finished my very long poem called The Divine Comedy. In my story, I travel on a special journey through amazing and sometimes spooky places. I see starry skies and meet all sorts of interesting people along the way. My friend Beatrice is in the story, too, helping me find my way at the end of my trip. It took me many years to write down my whole adventure.

I lived to be 56 years old, and my life ended in the year 1321. Though that was a very long time ago, people all over the world still read my adventure story today! It makes me so happy to know that my words can take you on a journey, just like they took me. I hope my story makes you want to imagine and share your own wonderful adventures, too.
