Just want Giacomo Puccini?
Ciao! My name is Giacomo Puccini, and I love music! I was born in a beautiful city in Italy called Lucca on December 22nd, 1858. Music was all around me. My daddy, his daddy, and even his daddy's daddy were all musicians! When I was a little boy, I loved to listen to the big, booming organ at the church. I knew right away that I wanted to make my own wonderful sounds for the world to hear.
I grew up and learned how to write music that tells stories. These stories are called operas! In an opera, people sing the story instead of just talking. I wrote an opera called 'La bohème' about a group of friends living in Paris. I also wrote one called 'Madama Butterfly' about a lovely lady. I used my music like paint to create feelings—sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but always beautiful.
I loved making music my whole life. I lived to be 65 years old, and though I am not here anymore, my music is! All around the world, people still go to see my operas. They laugh and cry to the stories I told with my songs. My music is a special gift that I left for you to enjoy forever.
