Just want Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi?
Hello, my name is Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi. In my language, my name means 'a man of a thousand sciences,' and I was given that name because I was curious about everything. I lived in the beautiful city of Istanbul during the 1600s. The city was filled with tall towers, grand buildings, and the sparkling blue water of the Bosphorus strait. Every day, I would look up at the sky and watch the birds. I saw them stretch their wings and soar high above the water. They looked so free. I would watch them for hours and dream that one day, I could be just like them. I wanted to fly more than anything else in the world.
My dream of flying was always on my mind. I knew that if I wanted to fly like a bird, I had to understand how they did it. So, I spent years carefully studying them. I watched how they flapped their wings to push against the air and how they would glide on the wind to travel without getting tired. I saw how their wings were shaped to catch the air just right. After learning so much, I decided it was time to build wings of my own. I gathered materials like strong, light wood for the frame and many feathers. I worked for a very long time, carefully crafting my wings to be big and powerful, but also light enough for me to carry, just like the wings of a great eagle.
Finally, the most exciting day of my life arrived in the year 1632. I took my giant wings and went to the Galata Tower, one of the tallest buildings in all of Istanbul. I climbed all the way to the very top, carrying the wings I had worked so hard to build. When I stood at the top, I could see the whole city spread out below me. The Bosphorus strait looked like a wide, blue ribbon. I took a deep breath, remembered everything I learned from the birds, and I leaped into the air. It worked. I was flying. I soared across the water, looking down at the world just as I had always dreamed. I flew all the way across the Bosphorus and landed safely on the other side.

Our ruler, Sultan Murad IV, heard about my amazing flight and was very impressed. He was proud of what I had done, but he was also a little worried that a person who could fly might be too powerful. Because of this, he sent me to live in a different land far away from my home. I lived a full life there, and I never forgot the wonderful day I touched the sky. Today, people in Turkey and all around the world still tell my story. They remember me as a boy who had a big dream and was brave enough to make it come true. My flight shows everyone that with courage and a curious mind, even the wildest dreams can take flight.
