Just want Jacob Bernoulli?
Hello! My name is Jacob Bernoulli. I lived a very long, long time ago. When I was a boy, I loved looking at the stars and thinking about numbers and shapes. Everything around me was a fun puzzle! I especially loved finding patterns in the world.
My favorite thing to do was discover new ideas. One time, I found a special curly shape that looked like a ribbon tied in a bow or the number eight lying down for a nap. It was so much fun to draw! I also discovered something neat about guessing. I realized that if you do something over and over again, like flipping a coin, you can make a very good guess about what will happen next. The more you do it, the better your guess gets! It's like a secret code for understanding the world.
I spent my whole life happily playing with numbers and sharing what I learned. I lived to be 50 years old. Even though that was a long time ago, people still use my ideas today! When people try to figure out what might happen in a game or in the weather, they are using some of the puzzles I helped solve. It makes me smile to know that my love for numbers still helps people learn and discover new things.
