A Story About John Locke
Hello there! My name is John Locke, and I lived a long, long time ago in a country called England. When I was a little boy, I loved to read books and ask big questions. I always wondered about the world and why things were the way they were. Thinking was my favorite thing to do!
As I grew up, I spent a lot of time thinking about what was fair. I had a very important idea: I believed that every single person is born free. I thought everyone should have the right to be safe, to be happy, and to have their own things. It didn't matter if you were a king or a farmer—everyone deserved to be treated with kindness.
I wanted to share my ideas with the whole world, so I wrote them down in books. I wrote about how people could work together to make fair rules for their towns and countries. I hoped my words would help everyone understand that they were important and that their voices mattered.
I lived to be 72 years old. Even though I am not here anymore, my ideas live on! People all over the world, like the leaders who started the United States of America, read my books. My big ideas about being free and having rights helped them build new countries where people could be treated fairly. And that makes me very happy.
