Just want Leopold Mozart?
Hello there! My name is Leopold Mozart. I was born a very long time ago, on November 14th, 1719, in a town called Augsburg in Germany. Ever since I was a little boy, I loved music more than anything. The sounds of a violin could make my heart dance! I practiced and practiced until I became a violinist and a composer, which means I wrote my own music. I loved sharing the beautiful sounds that came from my instrument and the melodies that I created in my head.
When I grew up, I moved to a beautiful city called Salzburg in Austria. It was a wonderful place filled with music and art. I got a very important job playing music for the leader of the city, the Prince-Archbishop. This meant I was part of a special group of musicians who performed for him. I didn't just play music; I taught it, too! I wanted everyone to know how to play the violin properly and feel the same joy I did. So, in the year 1756, I wrote a special book all about it. That book became famous all over Europe and helped many people learn to play the violin beautifully.
The year 1756 was special for another reason—it was the year my son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was born! I also had a wonderfully talented daughter named Maria Anna, who we called Nannerl. When they were just tiny tots, I noticed they had a special gift for music. It was like music was already a part of them. Nannerl could play the harpsichord, a type of piano, so beautifully it sounded like magic. And little Wolfgang could play pieces perfectly after hearing them only once! I knew I had to share their amazing talents with the world. Starting in the 1760s, our family traveled all over Europe in a carriage. It was a long journey, but it was exciting. My children played concerts for kings, queens, and many important people. I was the proudest father in the world watching them perform.

I spent my life sharing the joy of music as a composer and a teacher. I loved writing my own songs and helping others learn to play. I lived to be 67 years old, passing away on May 28th, 1787. Today, people remember me for my own music and my helpful violin book. But most of all, they remember me as the teacher and father who gave the world one of its greatest musical treasures: my son, Wolfgang. My love for music lives on through him and all the people who play and listen to our compositions.
