Just want Mahatma Gandhi?
Hello, my name is Mohandas. Many people called me Mahatma, which means 'Great Soul'. When I was a little boy, a long, long time ago in a country called India, I was very quiet and shy. My family taught me something very important. They taught me to always tell the truth. They also taught me to be kind to everyone and every little creature, from the tiniest bug to the biggest animal. I learned that being gentle and honest was the best way to be.
When I grew up, I traveled on a big boat to a place called South Africa. But when I got there, I saw something that made me feel sad. Some people were not being treated kindly just because they looked different. This was not fair, and it hurt my heart. I knew that fighting with our hands was not the right way to fix things. So I thought of a big idea I called 'Satyagraha'. That's a big word, but it just means 'truth power'. It is a special kind of power that comes from being peaceful and brave. We could use our kind hearts and brave words to show others what is right.
After many years, I went back home to India to help my friends and neighbors. We all wanted to be free and take care of our own country. So, one day in the year 1930, I decided to go on a very, very long walk. Many of my friends came with me. We walked and walked for many days until we reached the big, sparkly sea. We went to the sea to make our own salt from the water. It was our quiet and peaceful way to show that we were strong and could do things for ourselves. We did not shout or fight. We just walked together, as friends, to make a change.

And do you know what happened. Our quiet, peaceful ways worked. After a long time, my country, India, became free. This showed everyone that kindness is stronger than anger. I grew very old and then I died, but my story lives on. Remember, you have a special power inside of you, too. It is the power of kindness. You can use it to help your friends, share your toys, and make the world a happier place, one kind heart at a time.
