Just want Margherita Hack?
Hello! My name is Margherita Hack. I was born in a beautiful city called Florence in Italy, in the year 1922. When I was a little girl, my favorite thing to do was look up at the night sky. I saw so many twinkling, sparkly stars! I would wonder what they were and what secrets they held, shining so far away.
When I grew up, I decided I wanted to learn all about the stars. I became a scientist called an astrophysicist—that's a big word for a star expert! I got to use giant telescopes to look at stars up close. In the year 1964, I became the very first woman in my country to be in charge of a big observatory, a special place for studying the stars. It was so exciting!
I loved the stars so much that I wanted everyone to know how amazing they are. I wrote books and went on TV to tell people all about space. I also had another big love in my life: animals! I especially loved cats and had many of them at home. They were my furry friends.
I lived to be 91 years old, and I spent my whole life looking at the sky. People remember me as the 'Lady of the Stars' because I helped so many people fall in love with space. I hope that when you look up at the night sky, you think of all the amazing things out there, just waiting to be discovered.
