Hello. We are the Medici family. We lived a long, long time ago in a sunny, beautiful city in Italy called Florence. Our family loved our city, and we wanted to make it the most wonderful place in the world. We were not kings or queens, but we had a special job. We were bankers, which meant we helped people with their money.
Our favorite thing to do was help artists. We knew so many talented people, like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. We gave them paint, brushes, and big walls to work on so they could create amazing art. It was like giving your friend the best crayons to draw a masterpiece. They painted beautiful pictures and built tall, amazing buildings that reached for the sky. We loved seeing our city fill up with color and wonderful statues.
Our family's story in Florence came to an end many years ago. But the best part is that our gift to the world is still there. If you visit Florence today, you can see the incredible paintings, statues, and buildings we helped create. We are remembered for loving art and for helping turn our city into a giant, beautiful museum for everyone to enjoy.
