Hello! My name is Ptolemy, and I was a prince in a warm, sunny land called Egypt a long, long time ago. I lived in a big, beautiful palace right next to the famous Nile River. When my father, the king, said it was my turn to lead, I became a pharaoh! Being a pharaoh was a very important job for a boy.
I was not supposed to be pharaoh all by myself. My father wanted me to share the job with my big sister, Cleopatra. She was very smart and strong. We ruled together, but being in charge is a big task, especially when you are young. Sometimes, my sister and I did not agree on the best way to help our kingdom. It can be tricky to share such a big responsibility, even with family.
My time as a pharaoh was very short. I lived to be about 15 years old. But my story became a part of the history of ancient Egypt. People today still learn about the world I lived in, with its giant pyramids and amazing stories. I am remembered as one of the last pharaohs who ruled the incredible kingdom of Egypt.
