The First Emperor

Hello! My name is Qin Shi Huang, and I was the very first emperor of a big country called China. A long, long time ago, the land I lived in was like a puzzle with many separate pieces. All the pieces were apart from each other, and I had a very big idea. I wanted to bring all the puzzle pieces together to make one giant, wonderful country. I knew if we all worked together, we could be one big family.

To help my new country, I started some super big projects. The first thing I did was build a very, very long wall to help keep everyone safe from harm. It was so long that it became known as the Great Wall of China. I also wanted some friends and protectors for myself. I had thousands of special soldiers made out of clay. They looked just like real soldiers, and this amazing group is called the Terracotta Army.

My story ended after I lived a full life. I lived to be 49 years old. Today, people from all over the world can still visit the Great Wall I helped build. They can also see my special clay soldiers, standing tall just as they did a long time ago. People remember me as the emperor who brought all the pieces of China together to make one big family.
