Just want Suryavarman II?
Hello. My name is Suryavarman the Second, and I was a king a very, very long time ago. I lived in a warm, sunny place called the Khmer Empire. Being a king was a big job, but I loved my kingdom and all the people in it. I always dreamed of building something truly special, something that everyone would look at and say, 'Wow.'.
One day, I had a wonderful idea. I wanted to build the biggest, most beautiful temple in the whole world. I told my builders we would make a special home for the god Vishnu. We worked together for a long, long time. We used strong stone to build tall towers that looked like giant pinecones reaching for the sky. On the walls, my artists carved amazing pictures of dancers, animals, and exciting stories. We called it Angkor Wat.
I lived a long and busy life as king. Even though I am not there anymore, my amazing temple, Angkor Wat, is still standing. Today, people from all over the world travel to see it. They take pictures of the tall towers and trace the stories on the walls with their fingers. It makes me so happy to know that the beautiful gift I built for my kingdom is still making people smile today.
