The story

Theodosius I

Hello! My name is Theodosius, and I was a Roman Emperor a long, long time ago. Being an emperor was like being a king for a very big place called the Roman Empire. My job was to be a strong leader. I worked very hard to make sure everyone in my big home was safe and happy. It was a very important job, and I always tried my best to take care of all the people.

My giant empire was like one big family. I wanted everyone in my family to feel happy and connected. In the year 380, I made a very special rule for everyone. The rule said that Christianity would be the main belief for all the people in the empire. It was a big choice for our big family. I was also the very last emperor to be in charge of the whole, entire empire all at once. It was a very big job for one person!

After my time as an emperor was over, my two sons, Arcadius and Honorius, helped take care of the giant empire. One son took care of one part, and the other son took care of the other part. I lived to be 48 years old. I am remembered as a strong emperor who made a choice that changed the world for a very long time. It makes me happy to know that I helped people in my big family.
