Just want Tutankhamun?
Hello! My name is Tutankhamun, but many people call me King Tut. A long, long time ago, I was a pharaoh in a warm, sandy land called Egypt. A pharaoh is like a king! The most amazing part is that I became king when I was just a little boy, only about nine years old. It was a very big job for a small boy, but I had many people to help me rule my kingdom.
Being a pharaoh meant I was surrounded by beautiful things. I lived in a grand palace and wore special clothes. My favorite things were made of shiny, glittering gold. When it was time for my long sleep, my people put all of my favorite treasures in my tomb with me. They packed my favorite games, snacks, and even my royal chariots! The most famous treasure of all is my golden mask. It was placed over my face to protect me, and it shines as bright as the sun.
My tomb was hidden under the sand for thousands of years. It was like the world's biggest game of hide-and-seek! Then, in the year 1922, a man named Howard Carter found it. Inside, all my treasures were waiting, perfectly safe. I lived to be about 19 years old. Even though my life was short, people remember me today because my amazing tomb taught them so much about life in ancient Egypt. My golden treasures now travel the world for everyone to see and learn my story.
