The story

The Story of the Pharaoh

Hello. Can you guess who I am? A long, long time ago, in a warm land with lots of golden sand, I was very special. I lived by a big, long river. I wore a shiny, tall crown on my head and I sat on a big, beautiful chair called a throne. Everyone looked to me to keep them safe and happy. I was like a super-duper king or queen. I helped everyone in my big, sunny home. It was a very important job.

I am the Pharaoh. That was my special name in ancient Egypt. My story started a very, very long time ago, way back around the year 3150 BCE. I was the leader of everything. I watched the big Nile River and told the farmers when it was time to plant their yummy food. I helped build giant, pointy buildings called pyramids. They were like big stone houses where my treasures were kept safe. One of the most famous pharaohs was just a little boy. His name was Tutankhamun, and people call him the 'Boy King'. He had a super shiny golden mask.

My time as a ruler ended a long, long time ago, around the year 30 BCE. But you can still find my stories today. If you visit my home in Egypt, you can see the giant pyramids I built. They are so big they almost touch the sky. On the walls inside, you can see special picture-writing called hieroglyphs. These pictures tell my story. It makes me happy that I can still share the wonders of my world with you. My story helps us remember that we can learn exciting things from the past.
