Victor Hugo: A Life of Stories
Hello there. My name is Victor Hugo. A long, long time ago, in the year 1802, I was born. Ever since I was a little boy, I loved words. I would take my pen and a big piece of paper. I used them to create whole new worlds. My worlds were filled with amazing people and exciting adventures. It felt like magic.
I wrote lots and lots of stories. In the year 1862, I wrote one of my most famous stories. It is called Les Misérables. It’s about a very strong and kind man named Jean Valjean. He learns how to be good and help others. I also wrote a story about a giant, beautiful church called Notre-Dame. Inside lived a bell-ringer named Quasimodo. He had a very big heart. My stories were full of feelings. Sometimes they were sad, but they were always full of hope.
I lived to be 83 years old, and I spent my whole life writing until the year 1885. I hoped my stories would show people how important it is to be kind to everyone. Today, children and grown-ups all over the world still read my books. My characters, like Jean Valjean and Quasimodo, have adventures in cartoons and movies. My stories live on, reminding everyone to be brave and love one another.
