Hello. I am an Angle. A long, long, long time ago, some very clever friends in a place called Egypt found me. Around the year 2000 BCE, they used me to help build their giant, pointy pyramids. I helped make sure the sides were just right. Other friends in a place called Babylonia used me to look up, up, up at the bright, sparkly stars. Much later, around 300 BCE, a very smart thinker named Euclid wrote a whole book just for me and my shape friends. He showed everyone how I work. He explained that I can be tiny and sharp like a pencil point, or big and wide like your arms when you give a big hug.
I am everywhere you look. I am always helping. I help builders make strong houses that do not fall down. I help artists draw cool pictures with lots of fun shapes. I even help airplanes know which way to fly in the big blue sky. Look around. Can you find me in the bend of your elbow? Can you see me in the hands on a clock? I am always here, helping to give our wonderful world its shape.
