The Story of the Bridge to Terabithia
Hello there. I have a colorful cover, and when you open me, my pages make a soft, rustling sound, like leaves dancing in a gentle wind. I am a book. But I am more than just paper with words. I am a secret path that leads you deep into a big, green forest. Inside me, you can swing on a rope over a sparkly creek and discover a magical kingdom hidden among the tall trees. This special place was built by two wonderful friends. I am the book, and my name is 'Bridge to Terabithia'. I hold their amazing adventures and their secret world just for you.
I was created by a kind woman named Katherine Paterson. She used her words like paint to create the pictures in your mind. On October 21st, 1977, she decided to share my story with children everywhere. Katherine wanted to tell you all about a boy named Jess and a girl named Leslie. They felt a little bit lonely at first, but they became the best of friends. Together, they used their big imaginations to create a secret land called Terabithia. In their magical kingdom, they were a brave king and a brave queen. They would run and laugh and have grand adventures every single day.
My story is all about the wonderful magic of friendship. I show children how to build amazing worlds just by playing and imagining together. I am like a special bridge. A bridge made of happy thoughts and fun ideas that connects friends' hearts. For many, many years, I have helped remind children that the most wonderful, magical places are the ones you dream up and share with a very good friend.
