Just want Flag of Italy?
I have a stripe of bright green, like a sunny field where you can run and play. Next to it, I have a stripe of pure white, like a fluffy cloud floating in the sky. And beside that, I have a stripe of happy red, like a sweet, juicy strawberry. I love to flutter and dance when the wind tickles me. It feels like I am waving hello to everyone. Do you know who I am. I am the Flag of Italy. My friends call me Il Tricolore, which means the three colors.
My birthday story began a very long time ago. On a chilly day, January 7th, 1797, the people of Italy decided they needed a special symbol to bring everyone together. They wanted something that showed how much they loved their home. They chose my colors to tell a story. Green is for the beautiful rolling hills where sheep like to play. White is for the snowy tops of the tall mountains that touch the clouds. And red is for the love in their hearts for each other. I was so proud to be chosen. Soon, people were waving me in happy parades and smiling big smiles when they saw me.
Now, you can see me everywhere in Italy. I fly high above big buildings, watching the cars and people below. I cheer at exciting soccer games when the crowd shouts with joy. Sometimes you will even see my colors on a box of yummy pizza. I am a happy hello to people who live in Italy and to friends who come to visit from far away. Every time I dance in the wind, I am sending a happy wave from Italy to the world, reminding everyone to be friends and share a smile.
