The story

Cornelio Saavedra and a Country's Birthday

Hello there. My name is Cornelio Saavedra, and I want to tell you about a very special day. A long, long time ago, I lived in a beautiful city called Buenos Aires. Our city was part of a big land ruled by a king. But this king lived very, very far away, across a big, wide ocean. He was so far away that he couldn't help us with our problems anymore. It was like when your parents are in another room, and you have to figure out how to build the block tower all by yourself. We knew it was time for us to work together and make our own choices for our home. We were ready to be in charge of ourselves.
