Just want Bastille Day - French?
Hello, I am a very special day in France. My name is Bastille Day. I am a national holiday, which means it is a day for the whole country to celebrate together. People in France look forward to my arrival every year. My date is always the same: the 14th of July. In the French language, I am also called La Fête Nationale. This is my official name in France. It is a day full of fun and happy activities from morning until night.
When morning comes, one of my most famous traditions begins. In Paris, the capital city of France, a very large parade takes place. Many people line the streets to watch. They see soldiers marching in neat rows. The soldiers wear special uniforms for the parade. It’s not just on the ground, though. People also look up to the sky. They see airplanes flying overhead. These planes often leave trails of colorful smoke behind them. The smoke is red, white, and blue, which are the three colors of the French flag. It makes a beautiful picture in the sky for everyone to see.
The celebrations for me do not end when the parade is over. The fun continues long into the evening. After the sun sets and the sky becomes dark, another exciting event happens. People gather with their friends and families to watch amazing fireworks displays. These colorful lights burst and sparkle high in the air. In Paris, the fireworks often light up the sky near a famous landmark called the Eiffel Tower. In towns all over France, people might also go to dances or have parties. It is a joyful way for people to end their celebration of me.
