Just want Carnival - Dutch?
Hello! I am the Dutch Carnival. I am a big, colorful party that happens once a year. People celebrate me just before a quiet time begins. For three whole days, towns are filled with happy music and lots of dancing. The streets look bright and cheerful, and everyone is excited to have fun together.
One of the best parts of my celebration is dressing up in funny costumes. People might look like silly clowns with big red noses, brave animals, or anything else they can imagine! It is a time to be creative and playful. People also love to watch big parades. Amazing floats, which are like decorated stages on wheels, move down the street for everyone to see. People sing happy songs together as the parade goes by.
During my celebration, a special leader called Prince Carnival is chosen. He is very important for the party. Prince Carnival gets the big key to the city, which shows he is in charge of all the fun. He leads the parades and waves to everyone. For these few days, the city even gets a funny new name! This special name shows that it is time for my party. When my celebration is over, everything goes back to normal until next year.
