Just want Doudou - Belgian?
Hello! I am the Doudou festival. I am a very old and special celebration for the people who live in the city of Mons, in a country called Belgium. I happen once every year, and my traditions have been around for a very long time. When it is time for me, the whole city gets excited for the parades and fun.
One of the most exciting parts of me is a special play about a brave knight named Saint George. He pretends to have a big fight with a giant green dragon to keep everyone safe. The dragon looks amazing with its long tail. During the fight, people in the crowd try to grab a little piece of the dragon's tail. It is said that anyone who gets a piece will have good luck. It is a fun and noisy show for everyone watching.
After the fight, I have a big parade with a very special golden cart. The cart is called the Car d'Or, and it is very beautiful and heavy. Strong horses pull the cart through the streets. They have a very hard job to do. They must pull the cart all the way up a steep, bumpy hill. The hill is so steep that many people from the city come to help. They all push the heavy cart together until it reaches the very top. People believe that helping the cart get up the hill makes sure their city has good luck for the whole year.
