Just want Fourth of July - American?
Hello! I am the Fourth of July. Some people call me by my other name, Independence Day. My day is a very happy birthday party for a whole country! I celebrate the birthday of the United States of America. A long, long time ago, this country became its own free nation. It was a very important day, and that is why people celebrate me every year in the summer.
When I arrive, it is a time for fun and games. Families and friends get together to enjoy the warm weather. Many people have picnics outside, sharing yummy food and playing together. You might see a parade marching down the street. There is often loud music and people waving. A very special part of my day is seeing the colors red, white, and blue. These are the colors of the American flag. People use these colors to decorate their homes and towns. It is a happy way to celebrate.
After a full day of fun, the best part comes when it gets dark. Everyone looks up at the night sky for a special show. It is time for fireworks! The fireworks shoot up high and make loud “BOOM” and “WHIZ” sounds. They burst into beautiful, sparkling lights of red, white, and blue. The bright colors fill the dark sky and make people smile. Watching the amazing fireworks is an exciting way to end my special day.
