Just want St. Patrick's Day - Irish?
Hello! I am St. Patrick's Day. I am a special day that comes once a year. People celebrate me on the same day every spring, on March 17th. My day is a time to remember a person named Patrick. He was very important to a beautiful, green country called Ireland a long, long time ago.
My special color is bright, happy green! On my day, many people like to wear green clothes to celebrate. You might see green shirts, green hats, and even silly green glasses. Green is everywhere! Sometimes, people do funny things with my special color. They might put safe, green coloring in a big river to turn the water green for a little while. They might even eat green foods, like green cookies or green milkshakes. It is a fun way to show they are celebrating my day.
One of the most exciting ways people celebrate me is with big parades. In a parade, people walk down the street together. There is often loud, happy music playing. You can see people dancing and smiling. Big, colorful floats move down the street for everyone to see. It is a very happy time for many people in Ireland and in other places all around the world. For them, I am a day for smiles, music, dancing, and the color green.
