Just want World Children's Day?
Hello! I am World Children's Day. I am a very special day that belongs to all the children in the whole wide world. People think of me every year on a day called November 20th. My job is to help everyone remember to make the world a wonderful place for every single kid. On my day, grown-ups and children talk about how to keep every child happy, healthy, and safe from harm. It is a day to make sure every child feels loved and cared for, and has a chance to play and learn.
I have a special color that helps people remember me. It’s the color blue! Think of the big, blue sky on a sunny day or the deep, blue ocean. On my day, you might see this cheerful color everywhere. Big, tall buildings and famous bridges might shine with bright blue lights when it gets dark outside. It looks so pretty and makes everything glow! Many people, both kids and grown-ups, also wear blue shirts, blue hats, or blue ribbons. Wearing blue shows that they are all thinking about children's rights and how important they are.
One of the most exciting parts about me is that children get to be the leaders for a day! This is sometimes called a "Kids' Takeover." Imagine kids getting to do important grown-up jobs just for one day. Some children might become news reporters on television, holding a microphone and telling everyone the news. Others might help make big decisions in their towns or schools. This shows all the grown-ups how smart and capable kids are. My day is all about listening to children, celebrating their ideas, and remembering that they are the future.
