My story started a long, long time ago with my smart friend. His name was Steven Sasson. In 1975, he had a wonderful idea. He thought, 'What if a camera could remember pictures all by itself?'. He decided to teach me how to remember using tiny, sparkly dots of light. It was like magic. When I was first born, I didn't look like I do today. I was very big, as big as a toaster. I was also very slow. It took me a long, long time to think. It took me 23 whole seconds to take just one picture. And my first picture wasn't full of bright colors. It was just black and white. But it was a start.

Look at me now. I am not a big, slow box anymore. I grew up. Now, I am a small and super-fast camera. I am so small that I can hide inside a phone. I love helping you share your happy moments. Click.
