The story

The Magical Induction Cooktop

Hello. I am an Induction Cooktop. I live in the kitchen and I look very shiny and smooth. You might think I'm just a countertop, but I have a wonderful secret. I can help make your yummy pancakes and warm your soup. But guess what. My surface doesn't get fiery hot like other stoves. It's like magic. I use a special, invisible power to make the pot warm all by itself. It’s my little secret for cooking in a fun and safe way.

A very long time ago, smart people found a secret power in the world. It’s an invisible power called magnetism. It’s the same power that makes magnets stick to your fridge. These clever people learned how to use this power for cooking. They made me. I can tell special pots and pans to get warm all by themselves. It's my magnetic magic. I was so excited when I was first shown to everyone at a big, fun fair on May 27th, 1933. People were so surprised to see me cook without any fire. They thought I was a real magician.

Today, I love living in kitchens with families like yours. My best trick is that I stay cool while I cook. Only the pot gets warm, so little hands are safer near me. That makes mommies and daddies happy. I also cook food super-duper fast. Zip. Your macaroni is ready. Zoom. Your eggs are done. It makes waiting for dinner so much shorter. I feel so proud and happy to use my magnetic magic to help you eat delicious food safely every single day. Cooking is my favorite game.
