Just want Gas Stove?
Hello. I am a Gas Stove. It is so nice to meet you. My favorite thing to do is help cook yummy food for you to eat. I make pancakes sizzle and soup get warm and cozy. Before I was invented, kitchens could be very smoky and dark. It took a very long time to make dinner. But I was created to make cooking clean, easy, and fast. I love my job because I get to help make happy tummies and happy families every single day. I am a very helpful friend to have in the kitchen.
I was born from a bright idea a long, long time ago. A clever man named James Sharp thought of me in 1826. He saw that gas could be used to make light in lamps. He thought and thought and said, “What if gas could also make a little fire to cook food?”. So he built me. He gave me a special tummy where a little blue flame could sleep. When it was time to cook, a grown-up could turn a knob, and with a gentle ‘whoosh,’ my little blue flame would wake up. It was a clean, warm flame, not like the smoky fires people used before. I was so excited to help.
Many years later, on May 1st, 1851, I was shown to everyone at a big fair called the Great Exhibition. People were so surprised to see how I could cook food without any smoke. Soon, many families wanted a friend like me in their home. I made kitchens so much cleaner. I made cooking so much faster. This meant families had more time to eat their yummy meals and play together. I still love helping people today. Every time you smell warm cookies baking or see soup bubbling, I am there, sharing my little blue flame to make happy memories.
