Just want Ersa?
Have you ever woken up so early that the sun is still sleeping, and the world is painted in soft shades of blue and gray? That is my favorite time of day, when everything is hushed and peaceful. My name is Ersa, and I am the Goddess of Dew. Every morning, just before the sun yawns and stretches, I get ready for my special job. My mother, the beautiful moon goddess Selene, gives me a gentle push from the night sky, and my powerful father, Zeus, king of all gods, clears the air for my journey down to Earth. I carry a special, sparkling gift for the world, a secret that glitters only in the first light of dawn. This is my story, the myth of how I paint the world with watery jewels each day. It is the story of Ersa.
Long, long ago in a land called ancient Greece, people did not have scientists to explain every little thing. When they woke up, they saw my beautiful work everywhere. They would step outside into their gardens and fields and gasp in surprise. Tiny, perfect drops of water clung to every surface like magic. The drops sparkled on flower petals like little diamonds and hung from spiderwebs like delicate strings of pearls. Every single blade of grass wore a glittering coat. 'Where did all this water come from?' they would ask each other with wide eyes. 'It did not rain last night.' They looked up at the sky, where my father Zeus ruled, and then toward the horizon, where my mother Selene, the Moon, had just gone to sleep. Since they could not find a simple answer, they imagined a wonderful one. They imagined me. They pictured a gentle goddess who floated down from the heavens each morning to deliver the moon’s cool, fresh kisses to all the thirsty plants. They believed I would glide silently over the hills and meadows, my fingers trailing behind me, touching each leaf and flower with my watery magic. I was their lovely explanation for the beautiful mystery of morning dew, and I was happy to be their secret artist.

My story was not about big, scary monsters or epic battles between gods. It was a quieter, gentler myth about the everyday magic of nature. It gave people a beautiful way to understand their world and made the morning feel special and full of secrets. This idea inspired poets to write about the ‘jewels of the dawn’ and encouraged artists to paint green landscapes sparkling with my gift. And you know what? That magic is still here for you to find. The next time you wake up extra early, maybe on your way to school or on a weekend adventure, and you see the grass glittering as if it is covered in fairy dust, you can think of me. My story is a reminder that even the smallest things, like a single, shining drop of dew, can hold a whole world of wonder and inspire us to imagine, dream, and see the incredible beauty that surrounds us every single day.
