The story

Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge

In the green, quiet lands of Ireland, there was a boy named Fionn. The river near his home sparkled like tiny stars, and the trees whispered secrets. Fionn was learning from a wise man named Finnegas. Finnegas knew a secret about a special fish hiding in the sparkling water. This is the story of Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge, and it is a very surprising story.

Finnegas wanted to catch a magical fish. It was called the Salmon of Knowledge. If you ate the fish, you would know everything in the whole wide world. One sunny day, splash. Finnegas caught the fish. It was so shiny and shimmery. Finnegas asked Fionn to cook the fish. He said, "Cook the fish, but do not eat a single bite.". Fionn watched the fish sizzle on the fire. Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle. Oh no. A little bit of hot fish juice splashed on his thumb. "Ouch.", said Fionn. He put his thumb in his mouth to make it feel better.

Pop. In that little moment, something magical happened. Suddenly, Fionn knew everything. He could understand what the birds were singing. He knew what the leaves were whispering. He even knew the secrets of the big, bright stars. All the knowledge of the world went right into Fionn. Finnegas saw Fionn’s eyes sparkle with magic and knew what had happened. Fionn grew up to be a very wise and brave hero. This story teaches us that big, wonderful surprises can happen when you are curious about the world around you.
