The Wolf and the Two Brothers
My fur is thick and gray, and I live in the woods near a long, winding river. My name is Lupa, and I am a mother wolf. One sunny morning, I was padding softly through the trees when I heard a little sound, like a tiny bird chirping. This is the story of the day I found two little babies, Romulus and Remus. I followed the sound to the riverbank and saw a basket bobbing in the water, caught in the reeds. Inside were two baby boys, wrapped in a soft blanket, looking up at me with big, curious eyes. I knew I had to help them.
I gently carried the basket back to my warm, cozy den. I snuggled the babies, Romulus and Remus, to keep them warm and fed them just like they were my own little pups. We were a happy family. One day, a kind shepherd saw us. He was very gentle and took the boys to his home to raise them. He knew this was the beginning of a special story, the story of Romulus and Remus. I watched them grow from my home in the woods, and I saw they were becoming strong and brave, with the heart of a wolf and the kindness of the shepherd.
When Romulus and Remus were all grown up, they returned to the riverbank where I found them. They decided to build a wonderful, big city right there, a place where people could be safe and strong together. They named the city Rome. The story of how my two little pups built a great city is told to children even today. It reminds everyone that even the smallest beginnings can lead to the greatest adventures, and that a little kindness can help build a whole new world.
