The story

The Legend of the Ceibo Flower

There was a girl named Anahí who lived in a big, green jungle. A shiny river flowed right by her home, sparkling in the sun. Anahí loved her home very much, and she loved to sing. She sang happy songs to the little fish in the water. She sang to the tall, tall trees and the colorful birds. Her songs were about the sun and the rain and all the things she loved. This is the legend of the Ceibo Flower.

One day, some men who did not know the jungle came. They were very loud and did not listen to the jungle's music. They wanted to take Anahí far away from her river and her trees. Anahí was a little bit scared, but she knew she had to be brave. She was brave like a strong jaguar. That night, she decided to sing a special song. It was not a sad song, it was a brave song. As she sang about her wonderful home, a warm, red light began to glow all around her. It was bright and cozy like a hug.

Anahí sang her brave song all through the night. When the morning sun came up, something wonderful happened. Anahí began to change. Her feet turned into strong roots that went deep into the ground she loved. Wiggle, wiggle, into the earth. Her arms stretched up high and became branches, reaching for the sky. And her beautiful song turned into many bright red flowers. She had become a Ceibo tree. Now, Anahí could stay in her jungle home forever and ever. Her story reminds everyone to be brave and to love the beautiful world around them.
