In Scotland, there is a big, big lake. The water is very deep and very dark. A little girl named Isla lives in a small cottage right beside the big lake. Isla has a special secret friend who lives deep in the water. Her friend is very shy. This is the story of Isla’s friend, the Loch Ness Monster.
Most days, the water is quiet and still. But sometimes, Isla sees something amazing. A long, smooth neck pops out of the water. It has gentle, kind eyes. It is Nessie! Nessie is a very shy monster. She peeks up to look around. Then, with a little splash, she disappears back into the deep, dark water. Splash! Isla waves to her friend. She thinks Nessie waves her long tail back to say a friendly hello.
People from all over the world come to visit the big, big lake. They bring cameras to take pictures. They hope they will see Nessie.
