Just want Theseus?
Hello! My name is Theseus. I am a prince from a sunny, happy land called Athens. In Athens, the sun shines bright and the sky is so blue. One day, I heard a sad story. It was about a faraway island named Crete. On Crete, people were sad. They were sad because a big, grumpy creature called the Minotaur lived in a giant maze. The maze had many twisty walls. I felt very brave in my heart. I knew I had to help them. This is the story of my big adventure. It is the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.
My boat sailed across the big blue water to the island of Crete. When I arrived, I met a kind princess. Her name was Ariadne. She had a wonderful idea to help me. She gave me a shiny ball of string. It was like magic! 'Hold this tight,' she said, 'and you won't get lost!' I took the string and walked into the big, twisty maze. The walls were so tall! I unrolled the string behind me, step by step by step. Deeper and deeper I went. It was very quiet. Then, I found the Minotaur. He was big and made a loud sound. But he looked very lonely. I knew I wasn't there to fight. I was there to help everyone feel safe again.
I looked at the Minotaur and said in a gentle voice, 'It is time to stop scaring people.' Then, I turned around and followed my magic string. I followed it around every corner, all the way back out of the maze. Hooray! Everyone on the island cheered. They were so happy to be safe again! My story teaches us something important. Being brave and clever is a special kind of strong. It shows that even big problems can be solved with a good idea and a kind heart.
